The Executive Editor became aware of several potential image duplication and manipulation issues raised by in comments on PubPeer. Specifically: Figure 3C NCI-N87 KDMC and MKN45 shKDM5C appear to be duplicates of two panels from Figure 5C of Tang et al 2016 and Figure 5A of Sun et al 2014 Figure 5C MKN45 Migration Control and shKDM5C appear to be duplicates of Figure 7C of Sun et al 2014 Figure 2A-B western blot bands appear to be duplicates of Figure 3B of Tang et al 2016, Figure 3B of Wang et al 2013, Figure 7A of Shen et al 2015, Figure 6E of Huo et al 2015, Figure 5C of Lv et al 2015, Figure 10A of Tang et al 2016, Figure 7A-C,E of Xia et al 2015, and Figure 6B/E of Hou et al 2015 Figure 7A p53 Mock and KDM5C western blot bands appear to be duplicates of Figure 7D p-AKT pSuper and pSuper-shJARID1B of Tang et al 2015
The authors did not respond to journal requests for underlying data to resolve the concerns. As a result, the scientific accuracy of this paper is not reliable.
Adhering to the international guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics, the Journal has determined these are grounds for retraction.
