The Executive Editor became aware of potential image duplication and manipulation issues raised by comments on PubPeer specifically:
Figure 5E 1 β-actin loading bands appear highly similar to another β-actin loading bands of Figure 5B from a previously published article. 2
The authors did not respond to journal requests for details regarding their article or regarding the potential image duplications. Upon further investigation, the submission has indicators of unauthorized third-party involvement.
Due to unresolved concerns about the integrity of the original images and the authenticity of the research, the findings in the article are unreliable. The Executive Editor retracts this article.
