Abstract
Autogenous aorto-iliac/femoral reconstruction is a successful option in the treatment of infection and other complex aortic problems. The SFPV grafts resist gram-positive and gram-negative infections. Reconstruction from these vein grafts allows eradication of infection and rapid healing of all wounds. In addition, this operation minimizes the risk of reinfection, and eliminates the problem of aortic stump blowout. These vein grafts have excellent long-term patency and aorto-iliac/femoral reconstructions from them are durable with correspondingly high limb salvage rates and minimal venous morbidity.
