Abstract
In extrusion coating, polyethylenes of different molecular weight distributions (MWDs) require different extrusion conditions to provide thin coat ings. Those with broad MWDs coat to their thinnest at lower extruder output rates and slower line speeds. Those with narrow MWDs draw down best at higher extruder outputs and faster line speeds. Blends of the two MWD extremes show interesting coating performances.
