Abstract
Since the 1950s, Amoco has been a key supplier of aromatic acids to the polyester industry. Today, we supply 44% of the world's purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and over 75% of the world's purified isophthalic acid (PIA). Amoco is now expanding its polyester intermediate product portfolio with the commercializa tion of 2,6-dimethyl naphthalene dicarboxylate (NDC).
