Abstract
Dynamic rheological measurements provide a valuable means of char acterizing coatings and predicting how well they can be applied to fibers and fabrics. The viscoelastic parameters—η*, G', and G "—can be related directly to the structure of dispersed systems and can also serve to relate a coatings formulation to their ap plication behavior. Once the components are identified that relate to elasticity and viscosity independently, it is then possible to optimize the coating's application and end use performance.
