Abstract
This paper provides a summary of nonwoven fabric usages and presents a compar ative outline of nonwoven manufacturing technologies currently in use or emerging in the U.S. The manufacturing systems are classified and described as derivatives of textile, paper, plastic technologies or combinations thereof. A discussion of the cur rent situation and future trends in nonwoven manufacturing technology is also given.
