A new room-temperature-curing, silicone-rubber foam can be used as the backing for high-performance composite fabrics. With its excellent adhesion characteristics to fiberglass, foils, silica cloth, silicone-treated fabrics, and wool/nylon blends, the foam is an economical alternative for applications where heat or moisture barrier proper ties are of concern, or where organic foams are unable to meet performance require ments.
