Abstract
Water-borne coatings for the coated fabrics industry increased rapidly because they are the best alternative, and not necessarily because of EPA pressure. New develop ments in urethane chemistry enable the formulation of urethane water-borne coatings that have the adhesion, abrasion resistance, toughness and other properties necessary. The next generation of polymers is already on the drawing board. Close cooperation between the polymer manufacturer and coating formulator can only ex pand the horizons for this versatile form of polymer.
