Over fifty commercial sleeping bags were tested for hori zontal burn rate using the CPAI-75 method. All but one met the six inch per minute standard. Analysis by filling fiber type showed down burned at the slowest rate. A new polyester-based fibers blend has been developed with down-like aesthetics, performance and burn rate to pro vide a greater margin of safety in end uses where low flame response is desired.
