This article reflects on the experiences of Navy Nurse Corps Officer, Captain Kathleen M. Pierce, who was assigned to the congressional office of Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii). In this article, the author offers suggestions to nurses who want a voice in health legislation and policy.
