Abstract
This case study presents a description of a nurse’s first campaign for a Delaware state representative position in 2000. The chronicle of campaign activities illustrates the great value of nursing experience as well as the benefits of other nurses’ assistance and leadership when campaigning. Strategies, suggestions, and lessons are shared for other nurses considering a run for elected office. Though all campaigns are different, there is great value in examining the process as one nurse experienced it to add to the developing pool of knowledge.
