Abstract
The home health industry continues to reel from the health reform cost-containment measures mandated by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997. Although reimbursement for home care providers for Medicare beneficiaries has been drastically reduced by an interim form of prospective payment, the continued participation in the Medicare program has increased health agency costs. To add to these issues is the publication on July 3, 2000, of the final rules concerning the prospective payment system for home care.
