Abstract
This is a review of the Robert Wood Johnson report, Health Care’s Human Crisis: The American Nursing Shortage , published in April of 2002. The report looks at underlying factors driving the current nursing shortage and describes a short history of nursing, examines how other fields are coping with workforce shortages, reports on 15 labor markets experiencing shortages in the United States, and makes recommendations for both short-term and long-term solutions.
