Abstract
Aortic compliance, the ability of the aorta to expand and recoil with each cardiac cycle, plays a crucial role in cardiovascular function and health. The present review explores the physiology of aortic compliance, evolution of various modalities and techniques to evaluate arterial stiffness, factors influencing compliance, and the clinical implications of aortic compliance when performing interventions on the aorta.
Clinical Impact
A comprehensive understanding of endovascular approaches to the ascending aorta, including the aortic arch, is fundamental to evaluating the ongoing evolution of device technology and its integration with contemporary surgical strategies.
