Microcomputer-assisted instruction in communicative disorders has great potential for supplementing and enhancing preservice and inservice education of speech and language pathologists and audiologists. This article discusses the different modes of CAI and different types of programs available for creating microcomputer-assisted courseware. Guidelines for assessing CAI courseware are provided and implications for future uses of this media are discussed.
