Consultant Conversations: Launched in late 2023, this Recently Appointed Consultants’ Committee (RAC)-led podcast explores the non-clinical aspects of being a consultant, particularly helpful for new consultants and senior trainees. Topics include job planning, dealing with complaints, and conflict resolution – with consultants reflecting on the ‘what I wish I knew’.
Career Conversations: This Trainees and Members’ Committee (T&MC)-led podcast supports medical students and trainees with career guidance and professional development. Topics include job applications and interviews, starting work as a doctor, and the realities (and joys) of working in different medical specialties. The ‘Demystifying PACES’ series explains the new MRCP(UK) examination format and helps guide candidates to success, with experienced PACES examiners as guests.
Clinical Conversations: Also led by the T&MC, this well-established podcast covers clinical topics with expert speakers across the medical specialties, covering best practice and updates on investigations and management including new guidelines, patient vignettes, and reflections on clinical cases. This is suitable for all stages of training, and for consultants wishing to keep their clinical knowledge current.
Casenotes: This podcast from the RCPE Heritage team explores a wide-ranging history of medicine topics. The ‘Past and Present’ series devotes each episode to a different medical specialty, and ‘Head to Toe’ journeys through the human body.
