Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia is often considered an indolent disease with a variable course, and patients with this disorder are monitored by general physicians and practitioners. The authors detail two cases of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia with very rare and fatal complications, namely haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis and Hodgkin’s transformation. This is followed by a brief overview of these conditions.
