Abstract
Initially, it was found that some representatives of silicon compounds, a new class of silicon organic compounds ‘monocyclic analogs of silatranes, - possess a biological activity which is expressed as a stimulation of the proliferative-reparative function of connective tissue. The. Silicon compounds which were tested accelerated wound healing and epithelisation in rats, they accelerated the evolution of dermal wounds caused by thermal burningas well. When included in the covering of subcutaneously implanted olive-shaped polyethylene devices, silicon compounds effectively stimulated development and maturation of granulation-fibrous capsules surrounding the implants.
