Tyre dynamic properties which influence vehicle performance are broadly examined. Particular emphasis is placed on tyre dynamic properties related to ride, noise, handling, and fuel economy. Tyre wear, high speed capability, and pavement damage are briefly touched. The entire discussion is presented within the context of the growing movement toward analytical and experimental simulation intended to speed and improve vehicle design and development.
