Abstract
This is the third paper in a series concerned with a designer's role in plastic waste management. It deals with the relevant issue of limited, or non-acceptance of recycled plastics and the designer’s role in overcoming them. It presents a number of ways in which designers can overcome this reluctance and some design guidelines for designing with recycled plastics. A general conclusion sums up the pertinent issues which have been presented in this series of papers. Finally, the more general issue of sustainability and the role of design is discussed.
