Abstract
The thermodynamics properties of pure epoxidised natural rubber (ENR-50) and epoxidised natural rubber/N, N-M-Phenylenebismaleimide (ENR-50/HVA-2) compound were measured by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) at a heat rate 10 K/min and at temperatures ranging from 273.15 to 453.15 K. The equations and values of heat capacity, enthalpy, entropy, Gibbs free energy and internal energy of pure ENR-50 and ENR-50/HVA-2 were found to be functions of temperature. The equations of heat capacity, enthalpy and internal energy of pure ENR-50 and ENR-50/HVA-2 compound behaved as polynomial equations with temperature at different order, while entropy and Gibbs free energy of pure ENR-50 and ENR-50/HVA-2 compound behaved as exponential equations with temperature. The Gibbs free energy for both substances was a negative value for all temperatures ranging from 273.15 to 453.15 K.
