Abstract
Following recent interest in the development of a CIE visual performance model for lighting design, visual performance studies have been carried out at the Building Research Establishment. This paper describes the apparatus used to perform some of these studies. The apparatus could be applied more generally to psychophysical experiments on vision providing the stimulus can be adequately represented in slide format. Problems associated with operation of the equipment are discussed and minor and major system revisions are suggested which would improve the current BRE equipment and may be instructive to potential researchers in this area.
