Different standards and recommendations on the angular requirements for measuring the coefficient of luminous intensity values of retroreflective materials used in road signs, are analyzed. In spite of the many different types of measurement required in the CIE recommendation and in the US standards, it is found that just four are enough to satisfy practical needs.
