Abstract
Although chiefly concerned with maintenance, this paper also draws attention to advantages and difficulties arising from the design and construction of lighting equipment. It gives typical examples of what is considered to be economical maintenance in factories, offices and stores. The experience derived from various light sources in relation to maintenance costs is discussed.
