Abstract
2018 marks the 50th volume of Lighting Research and Technology. The volume commenced in issue 1 with a series of invited papers reflecting on achievements in lighting research in the past 50 years. In this final issue of volume 50 we celebrate a different achievement: the contribution to lighting research in that period of Peter Boyce, currently technical editor of the journal.
