Abstract
Dr. Roberto Merino-Martinez is an assistant professor at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands) in the Aircraft Noise and Climate Effects (ANCE) research group. He obtained his PhD cum laude in the field of aircraft noise and aeroacoustics in 2018. His research interests include phased microphone arrays, acoustic imaging, psychoacoustics, and noise reduction techniques for aircraft and wind turbine noise. He is also a part-time aeroacoustics consultant at the Dutch company Peutz bv specialized in aeroacoustic experiments in wind tunnels. He has received several awards for his research work, including the Clean Sky European Award for the Best PhD thesis in Applied Sciences and Engineering for Aeronautics in 2019, the second prize in the EU-funded TRA VISIONS 2020 Young Researcher Competition on the field of sustainable aviation, and the nomination for the European Young Researchers Award 2022 organized by EuroScience as one of Europe’s best three young researchers. He has recently received the prestigious Veni personal research grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Dr. Merino-Martinez is involved in several international collaboration projects and is an active reviewer for different scientific journals.
