In ultra deep-water environments, deep steep riser (DSR) can optimize the ultra-high-tension loads caused by the weight of the riser. In this paper, the influence of the buoyancy factor and the length of the buoyancy section of flexible jumper on DSR under random wave action is calculated and analyzed by using the co-rotational coordinate method (CRCM). The dynamic model of DSR is established based on the CRCM. The kinematics are described by Rodrigues formula. Then the dynamic governing equation of DSR is established. The Newmark-β method is used to solve the equation. Then a numerical example is given to verify the accuracy of the model. Finally, the influences of buoyancy factor and length of buoyancy section of flexible jumper on DSR are studied through parameter analysis. The results show that the length of buoyancy section has greater influence on DSR. When the length of the buoyancy section reaches 200 m, the influence of random waves on the displacement and internal force of DSR is more intense. The results can be used as reference for engineering application of DSR.
