Abstract
Although integrated care pathways (ICPs) are used widely in acute hospitals for conditions, such as fractured neck of femur, they have not been widely adopted in more complex or unpredictable areas such as mental health1,2. In Rotherham we have been developing ICPs in mental health for the past two years in a variety of areas, including an electro-convulsive (ECT) clinic, an inpatient rehabilitation unit and treatment with atypical antipsychotics. This paper outlines our rationale for, and experiences of, developing an ICP for our locally run clozapine clinic.
