Abstract
English writing ability is an important skill that students in colleges and universities must master, but traditional English writing teaching methods often cannot effectively improve students’ English writing ability. This paper proposes a deep learning-based model for improving English writing ability, which can evaluate English writing ability from four aspects: lexical, syntactic, structural and content, and utilize different deep neural network structures for feature extraction and scoring of compositions. In this paper, the effectiveness of the model for improving students’ English writing ability is verified through experiments, and a deep learning-based English writing scoring system is used to score the compositions automatically, and the scoring results have a high consistency with manual scoring. The research in this paper provides a new idea and method for English writing teaching, and also puts forward some prospects and suggestions for future research.
