This article gives an account of the counselling service for people with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) at the National Prion Clinic which is based in the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in the UK and aims to provide information, advocacy and support from diagnosis through bereavement for people with a diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) and their families.
