Abstract
The increasing trends of moribidity and mortality from road traffic accidents (RTAs) in Nigeria called for an evaluation of the counter measures. The evaluation of the counter measures. The evaluation showed that the main preventive measure is by safety Campaigns and that RTAs have not received the attention warranted by the magnitude of the problems. The efforts to combat RTAs in the country are uncoordinated, and inadequately evaluated for possible feed back and im provements. The situation calls for planned counter measures.
