Abstract
Emphasis is laid on the desirability of careful investigation in consultation with local interests before deciding on a site and on the nature of the facilities to be provided.
Suggestions are made on how to assess the extent of the facilities required.
A sharp contrast is drawn between planning for line as opposed to booth dressing, and the importance of adequate cooling facilities for carcases and offals is stressed.
Distinction is drawn between administrative management and management of slaughtering and dressing operations, and attention is drawn to the repercussion single v. multiple control of operations may have on planning.
