Abstract
Attention is drawn to the desirability of a survey to ascertain the number of pail closets in use in homes and schools, and the need for a planned programme of conversion. Sewerage schemes in the author's district which have been put in hand to improve drainage conditions are briefly described.
The author suggests that in future sewerage schemes it would be desirable to include the laying of lateral connections as part of the main scheme, and suggests that short-term loans would help property owners who wish to connect houses to a sewer, if they need them.
