Abstract
The psychological problems in placement for adoption revolve round the personalities of the adopting parents, the ability of the mother to make her own decisions and the need for the child to be adopted at the earliest possible moment. It is suggested that more study is required to determine the criteria for successful adoption so that magis trates and others may have something valid to guide them. The problems of adoption require a considerable knowledge of the factors making for mental health and stability of personality as well as of those of physical sanitation.
