Qualitative researchers have used computers to facilitate data analysis for more than a decade. The development of software specifically designed for qualitative data analysis (QDA) represents a newer, and more specialized, form of computer application. Progress in software development has been rapid and has been accompanied by tremendous expansion in interest among researchers. Persons experienced with QDA software often find themselves in demand to assist others in learning to use various programs. This paper was prepared to offer some insights into the ways in which demonstrations and workshops can be provided to familiarize users with software for QDA, especially the popular program NUD•IST.
