Telemedicine in the field of trauma
surgery is an evolving subject. Most of the
work published on telemedicine has been
from studies of its application in elective
medicine. This paper discusses the
possible advantages and disadvantages of
telemedicine used in the acute trauma
setting as seen by an orthopaedic surgeon
currently working at one of the UK's
largest trauma units: the North Stafford
shire Royal Infirmary, Stoke-on-Trent.
