This paper reviews Crime, Shame and Reintegration (Braithwaite, 1989) to isolate key concepts and processes in this new integrative theory. After outlining the theory, a series of questions is proposed which when answered, it is believed, will move the theory closer to a fully testable model of crime. These questions involve concepts and pro cesses at both the macro- and micro-levels of analysis.
