Abstract
Processes used for research of disasters are similar to those used for the assessment, determination of needs, planning, selection of interventions and their implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes in the clinical setting. A patient suffering a stroke and another patient with an acute inflammation of the gallbladder serve as examples. Patients travel along the same longitudinal progression as do disasters and clinical assessments are conducted using the body’s organ systems.
