The Influence of Suspension Concentration on the Filtration Efficiency in An Axial Hgmf Cell with Bounded Flow Field

Abstract

This work presents the influence of the concentration of the solid fraction from fluid suspension on the filtration efficiency in an axial HGMF cell with bounded flow field. The analysis is based on the differential equations of the particle motion obtained from the modified expressions of the drag and the magnetic forces. By analytically solving these equations, some families of isotelic curves were drawn at different concentrations and then a comparison between them was made. Beside, the work presents a better criterion for the optimization of the recovery, which is based on a relationship between the geometrical (a, L, R, d, M_s) and operational (b, χ, ν, H₀, η, ϕ) parameters, for which the theoretical filtration efficiency is 100%.
