Resonant actuators are used to provide sustained oscillatory motion with minimum power consumption. In this article a method is presented for predicting the transient behavior of resonant axial-field electromagnetic actuators. This method entails the numerical integration of the system of differential equations that govern the dynamics. The theory is demonstrated via application to a specific actuator configuration.
