Abstract
We state the equations that should be solved if one wants to know with some precision how micro-currents generated in a human body by a nearby power line are distributed. The proposed mathematical model is a (stationary, time-harmonic) conduction problem limited to the body, with two kinds of source-terms: a surface one, that accounts for ‘capacitive effects’ (due to the high voltage), and a volume one, that accounts for ‘inductive effects’ (due to the high intensity). Such a problem can easily be solved by standard finite element techniques. We comment here on results recently obtained with help of the ‘Trifou’ code.
