Abstract
Domains of highly grain oriented SiFe sheets are characterized by a frozen-in effect with respect to stress. This means that application of stress will not change the main domain configuration in a spontaneous way, a process of demagnetization proves to be a prerequisite for major changes. The paper demonstrates that this effect is existing also for magnetostrictive types of amorphous materials (Fe-based and FeNi-based materials), however, in a less Pronounced way. Main domains of (non-magnetostrictive) Co-based materials did not show considerable stress-caused modifications.
