Abstract
The magnetoelectric (ME) effect can be observed as a product property, in a composite of piezoelectric phase and piezomagnetic phase. Since the quantization of such a effect is very difficult by simple calculations, a rigorous theoretical treatment is necessary in order to design new ME composites for applications. In this paper we have modelled a special case of such composites with 3-0 or 0-3 connectivity of phases. Finally, the results of the calculations of the ME effect in the composites of different piezoelectric and magnetostrictive materials are reported.
