Abstract
A new magnetic field computation method has been developed for simulation of magnetizing anisotropic permanent magnets. The absolute value of the magnetization and its rotational angle are chosen as the unknown variables. All material data are obtained from only two curves; the curve for the axis for easy magnetization and the curve for the axis for hard magnetization. To treat the imperfection of particle orientation simply, a new quantity, "the residual angle", and a new model, "the representative particle model", have been introduced. Two-dimensional magnetization measurement has been used to examine the method. It has been experimentally confirmed that the method provides an accurate calculated magnetic field distribution around a Sr-ferrite bonded magnet.
