Abstract
In the paper a new linear induction motor is presented, suitable for driving a high speed train. The motor consists of a moving three-phase plane winding without iron core, developed on the entire length of each carriage of the train respectively, and of the fixed armature, made of two U shaped steel profiles, between which the inductor winding is moving. Due to the constructive simplicity of the inductor and of the armature, the presented motor is very promising for a specific investment point of view. That recommends its application in high speed electric traction.
