Abstract
The dynamic behavior of a buckled free-clamped, ferromagnetic beam, with an additional mass in the uniform magnetic field is investigated experimentally. The results indicated that responses of the elastic beam under the sinusoidal excitation exhibited the chaotic vibrations. The exciting amplitude and frequency for which strange attractor appears, were obtained experimentally. The computer-aided experimental system to trace chaos is also introduced, which consists of a personal computer and A/D board and is convenient in the observation of chaos.
