Abstract
A magnetic levitation system with both permanent magnets and electromagnets has less power loss than a conventional attraction-type system. In this paper, we propose an analysis procedure of the hybrid magnet in the experimental levitation system. Firstly, we discuss the difference in basic characteristics caused by various arrangements of permanent magnets by two-dimensional analysis. Secondly we make three-dimensional analysis of hybrid magnets. Though the vector potential A method is often adopted to solve magnetic problems, we propose the H-W method. Finally, utilizing the results of above analyses, we have made a digital control magnetic levitation system which can hold about 80 kg. We also design a controller having an integral mode in order to make the control current zero (zero current control).
