How to Describe Eddy Current Loss Properties in Soft Magnetic Cores

Abstract

This paper presents an approach describing eddy current loss on the basis of the theory of domain wall motion and proposes a new parameter that depends upon the resistivity, core dimensions and the number of domain walls which control the mechanism generating eddy current loss. This parameter corresponds to the equivalent eddy current resistance of the magnetic core.
