This paper describes a new RF magnetic induction type hyperthermia using a large ferrite core in troidal shape and water bolus. An optimization method for the design of applicators which has temperature control in a human body is also proposed. This method is based on a combination of the hybrid finite-boundary element method for analysis of an electromagnetic field problem and a spatial thermal distribution and the nonlinear least squares method for solving the corresponding optimization problem.
